Some Oasis Inspiration and Outfit Catch-Up

I walked past a window display in Dublin last month that caught my eye - it properly stopped me in my tracks, great marketing Oasis!  How fabulous is this little collaboration that they have going on with the V&A museum.  Its says their designers have picked prints from the Victoria & Albert museum archives to create these pieces.  I actually love the clashing of the prints - and even more against those tiles (now where can I buy those tiles...!).

Top £24, trousers £38
Top £32, skirt £45
I love this shirt dress for £45
Sharing a few snaps from one of my Summer holiday breaks visiting my big sister in Dublin.  I am a little behind with them I know.  Lesson learnt this Summer, we packed just a bit too much in and didn't really use the long break to relax in our own home enough.  Anyway, back to Dublin and some pictures from a few outfits I wore.  My sister kindly looked after the girls one evening and sent us to a gorgeous restaurant as a belated 10 year Anniversary present to us so I put on a little sparkle for that evening!

The Sales Update

Two returns, one success to report back on.  The Whistles cashmere jumper from House of Fraser was a little disappointing.  I liked the colour initially then it felt a bit 'blah' on.  As much as it was probably supposed to be a slouchy fit, it felt large and too non-descript.  The quality was ok, not £195's worth (it original price) and due to the other factors, not £60's worth either.

The Whistles dress from Asos also came up large, it was gaping around the arm holes and was slightly too big in the body.  It is a nice dress but was more formal/office in the flesh than I expected it to be and as I had it in mind for a wedding, it wouldn't work.  Lesson learnt - Whistles seem to come up larger on me (although some of my older Whistles items don't).

These Bobby dazzlers though - well these are keepers and have already been worn twice.  I am so pleased with them, they have fitted into my wardrobe perfectly.  When a court shoe is too formal (or cold!) and you want a smarter boot (heels play a part here) these work perfectly.  I've worn them with jeans and also with tights and a leather skirt so far.  I have sprayed them with a protector and removed them when driving!

This was my bargain £10 top mentioned in this post, from Topshop
I used a burgundy Coccinelle clutch and kept jewels simple (there were some semi-bling stud earrings going on under the hair though)

The Outfit Post

Just a little round up of some of the outfits that I actually remembered to take a photo of over the festive period!  Starting with my eldest's Christingle service.  It's always cold in the church so I opted for my large coat and a thick knit.  I bought this coat years ago (I am thinking about 4 years) in the Brussels Zara.  At the time I remember writing a blog post on it as I was desperate for the Topshop big animal fur one but I had too many people around me shouting loudly not to (and Bet Lynch!).  This seemed a more subtle coat and a compromise.  I am so glad I took the leap with it, I love the fit and years later, I still dig it out and feel good in it.  Done up or not, I just feel it falls really well.

Boxing Day madness, my sister and I decided to head to Bicester Village and to be honest, it really wasn't that bad.  We were really lucky with a car space and from there on in, it all seemed to fall into place.  There were queues but they moved fast (apart from Ugg, we refused to wait in that line).  My Ash boots are becoming a firm favourite, the heel is really great for walking in.  They have broken in so well and I don't think I've worn a boot this much in a while.  Another Zara coat as well!  This was bought in the sale last year.

New Years Day saw me drive into London to take my sister shopping for her birthday.  We had a great day roaming around, it was fairly quite and again, the Ash boots served me well.  I forgot to get a full on shot but you get the gist of it!

Scarf; Dents - cashmere
Jeans; Topshop Joni
Leather Coat (just seen); Miss Selfridge
Bracelets; Tiffany, Valentino, Annie Haak
Bag; Chanel
Boots; Ash Jalouse
Lastly, my eldest's birthday a few days later and more shops - but this time the Disney Store!  I layer up when shopping as I hate getting hot and flustered (usually happens when the sales are on.....) so I can easily peel layers off.  I mixed up prints and dragged out an old sale purchase from Accessorize.

Scarf; Accessorize
T-Shirt; Topshop
I didn't get a shot of me on my birthday (besides the cheesy grin one outside VB's store in the last post!) but yes, you've guessed it, the Ash boots were worn again.  What did I wear before I had these?!?!
