My Two March Purchases, Worn Together

I think I mentioned a few posts ago that I'm trying to stick to a strict budget and buy a few really decent pieces a month (I took February off after the January sales and started back properly in March!). So I've already shared this & Other Stories merino jumper but I hinted at the other purchase, my second pair of Ash boots!  They weren't planned, I saw them in the Next sale at £80 down from £160.  I wasn't 100% sure due to not seeing the colour in the flesh so as it was free delivery to the store, I popped them in the basket.

They weren't the colour I was expecting and weren't perfect, the tassels had fallen off on one side, the ring was missing, some slight scuffs on suede but Next's Customer Service team were faultless in rectifying this and I ended up getting them for £30 - WOW!  A trip to the shoe menders later and just like my black Jalouse one's, they are rarely off my feet.  The colour is great for coming into Spring, I am ridiculously pleased with them.  The colour varies in different lights so taken a few snaps to try and show them.

Coat; Miss Selfridge
Jumper; & Other Stories
Jeans; Topshop
Bag; Prada
Sunglasses; H&M (Hello Kitty - not mine!)
Boots; Ash

Guest appearance from Lizzie cat again!

I still adore this Miss Selfridge coat I bought in the January sales, initially I thought the fur hood was a little too much but it's grown on me so much, I just love it.

April has started well with the Bargain Buy currently featured - the Boden grey merino.  I have a breton on back order from them but my goal this month is bottoms.  I've never enjoyed shopping for them, I always struggle but I need to make an effort as I live in my favourite Topshop ones and even I'm getting a little bored right now.  Will update next month on my April buys!

Outfit Post

I feel like I'm MIA a lot at the moment with posting, tweeting etc. - apologies, life is just so hectic right now!  Before I pop out to do some work this evening here's what I wore at the week-end for a kids party I took my youngest too.  I must say, these Topshop Leigh jeans are literally lived in.  They are a navy blue but a really really soft denim - almost borderline not a denim.  They are my go to trouser for comfort, easy for running after children are a great fit and style.

Coat; Zara
Jumper; Alice Temperley
Jeans & Boots; Topshop
Bag; Prada

I wore my Alice Temperley jumper which pretty much matched the colour of my boots then added some colour with my Zara coat.  Nothing new purchased here, just some great staples working well from my wardrobe.

I even braved a bare ankle (but did have trainer socks on!)
I love the big collar and colour of this coat
The bobble's on this jumper made me buy it!

Making My Slightly Summer Boots Work In Winter

Some of you may remember these Topshop fringed boots from last year, I debated over the colour as also liked the black ones.  I ended up with the lighter ones, sprayed them with a protector (they are suede) and wore them a lot at the time with skirts.  With my dark blue Jamie skinnies tucked into them I have been wearing them again now the snow has stopped.  I am so pleased I kept this colour, I love how they add a little volume and something to the end of a plain skinny trouser like these jeans.

Gilet; Zara
Shirt; H&M
Bag; Prada
Jeans & Boots; Topshop

Same jeans, just a more casual look for the school run and with my new Miss Slefridge Parka - I love it!  So pleased with it for £45, it's so warm and feels better wearing a khaki colour than my big black puffa Nike one.
