Palmer's Cocoa Butter Love (and some very cheap Ballet Pumps!)

I don't know about you but I love the Palmers Cocoa Butter range.  I find their products very fairly priced and always good quality.  Last year when I ran out of my usual night cream and was waiting for the Christmas sale offers, I saw in Superdrug that Palmer's had a skin care range.  There were only a few products but they did have a night cream.  I was in a rush at the time and never got back to the store to purchase.  So this week whilst I was on a little light shopping trip with a friend, I paid Superdrug another visit.  I had asked in a few Boot's stores but they didn't stock the skin care items.  It's currently on a 3 for 2 offer and also available on line (just did a quick check and found they do a coconut hair range as well - yum!).  So my friend and I shared the offer as I only currently need a scrub, she bought one as well as the face mask.  This worked out at £4 and while it hasn't set the world alight as far as scrub's go (but then I am no expert), I feel that Palmer's have delivered again on a fair price and a good product.

£6 but cheaper if you use the 3 for 2 offer

Also on offer were their lip balms.  I have used them before but not the tinted dark chocolate cherry flavour.  For less than £2 each I grabbed them and am so impressed with the tint.  If you are after a cheaper alternative to the Clinique Chubby Stick, I really recommend this.

£1.89 for the plain, £1.99 for coloured

My favourite lip products at the moment

I was very well behaved on this shopping trip.  I even put a £10 top back in Zara.  However, after a recent trip to London where I had to wear some ballet pumps on the commute then swap to heels, I realised how much I needed a comfy pair.  These just called out to me.  They were sold by an independent but are by Jones Bootmaker.  Originally £60, last day of their sale, £15.93 to me - BARGAIN!  All leather, I thought at half price for £30 they were slightly over my none existent budget but for £15 odd, why would I walk away?  I can't wait to wear these bobby dazzlers!

Shop of the Week - Jaeger

I was having a little clear out of my business folder the other day and came across a list (I do like a list!) of my original business and blog idea's.  Like all things in life, time gets the better of us and you forget your roots so to speak.  One of my plans was to bring to you my 'shop of the week' be it from the web or a store that I've visited during the week that impressed me, either with their prices, new styles, both or anything of interest!  So I'm going back to my original plan and doing this on a weekly basis as 1. I like to keep in touch with what's out there which sometimes I neglect and 2. I just like the idea! So this week I am bringing to you Jaeger.  They have some amazing discounts on their sale items and currently if you use this code EXTRANL2 you get an additional 20% off.  Here are some of my favourite picks, be quick though, I am sure these won't last long!

£160 now £35 (£28 with further discount)

Does your Home Interioirs reflect your Personal Style?

Ever one to draw inspiration from all sources, most recently from an evening baby sitting!  My friend J had told me about her living room changes and without knowing how utterly stylish she was being she had opted for for a 'Carrie Bradshaw' look.  Previously she had a featured deep red wall, she has lifted the mood entirely with this amazing blue and taupe combo.  On a budget, a trip to Ikea spruced up a lamp, some new cushions and a throw. I think it looks amazing!

I love this modern print, also from Ikea!

This left me thinking about my own interiors.  I am not daring in my own pursuit of colour, I enjoy relaxed neutral tones, my whole house is the 'hint of' range from Dulux!  This is reflected in my own personal choice of colour when I'm dressing.  Greys, taupes, dull some may say but I enjoy wearing them!  It was actually one of the first things my tutor noticed about me when I was studying at London College of Fashion, so just to throw her, I wore a green blazer one day!  You can't help wearing what you enjoy, and sometimes I do feel like adding a blast of colour, but usually with accessories.  My friend J who's living room grabbed me, has always been one for wearing colour and patterns and she looks great in them.  I am always open to inspiration of any kind, I am now just trying to find a way of incorporating that lovely blue into my life/wardrobe/home!

My neautral colour pallets!

Out of Season Shopping

How uninspiring is this weather right now? Blimey, it's taking everything out of me not to chuck my big puffa on over my PJ's for the school run! Not helped when the 5 year old tells me my hair looks a mess (well that's because I've spent my time doing yours my lovely so now have no time left for me!) promptly followed by; "peach isn't your colour Mummy" - I give up! I guess you can always rely on children for an honest opinion!

As I live local to Bicester Village (how lucky, yes I know!) I do tend to pop in as often as my bank balance will allow to scan for some amazing deals. I've talked before about out of season investment buying and I think this is a good example of one! Snow boots! Timberland, waterproof (obviously!) and leather, originally £115.00, price to me £17.49! Crazy as it may seem, at that price, who wouldn't? May even be wearing them sooner than I think.....

My Handbag Personal Shop

Check out this handbag, £79.99 down to £26 in TK Maxx! All leather, dustbag included, I snapped up all 3 they had left! 1 for myself (of course!), 1 for my sister, 1 for my friend. I love shopping and enjoy a bargain that I can also share with friends and family. I am always texting pictures to them asking if they want something I've found. Just an example of one of my best finds for a personal shop!

The M&S top below didn't work out. Was far too long on me (am a shorty), but the colour's were great on me which is a shame. Always worth a try.

PS Can't wait for Marc Jacobs cosmetic line! Am a huge fan of his (handbags especially!)
