The Gap Order

I promised I would share my orders with you after I went through a slump of  being un-inspired. Well, mmmm.  Gap.  The high waisted jean on me - Simon Cowell eat your heart out.  Yes, just in case you were wondering, they did go back.

I've always loved a turn up on a trouser (and sleeves, I am forever rolling them up) so thought I'd try a light grey with a large turn up.  After looking back at the pictures, they don't actually look as bad as they did in the flesh.  They had this acid wash all over them and they were just a little bit too cool for school for me.

Then another too cool for school style, the ripped effect.  As these were £24.99 I thought I'd give them a whirl and they were the same 'Straight Cut' as a pair I'd bought earlier in the year and really enjoy wearing.  My only concern was my original pair have got very loose, so I ordered two sizes. This was the larger size.  They were ok.

However I felt the size down fitted better, although a little tighter, they would perhaps wear better after a few washes and not loosen too much.

I do find it really frustrating that stores have such different prices online.  When I went to return the jeans, the ones I wanted to keep were £12.99 in store!  Nearly half the price than what they were online.  So I returned the lot and bought them back again at the reduced price.  That was after I got a talking to by the manager who said it's not normally allowed but would do as a good will gesture. Well I am so stubborn, had they not have done I would have walked away on principle. Anyway, rant over, I got them at the price I wanted to pay!

  1. Oh Natalie you make me howl. I look forward to your round up reports. So glad you managed to find a pair that you love. I so don't think you're too cool to wear the others, they look great x

  2. There was time when I did most of my clothes shopping at gap but I got so fed up with the cat and mouse thing with the prices that I found it all a bit wearisome. In the end, i drifted away and sought pastures new...very useful post, love the last pair on you.

    1. I have mentioned to them in store and online about how frustrating it is to their shoppers but it doesn't seem to register with them. If only we could all make a stand long enough for them to listen! I love their jeans (and prices in store) too much to not buy though :( x

  3. The last pair are definately the best of the bunch on you, fab style and great price for what you eventually paid! I just had the same thing with Gap and the prices, I bought a skirt for £9.99 in store but it was £22.99 online, it's an issue that Gap really need to get sorted! xx

    1. Random isn't it - you'd have thought in store would be dearer to cover costs but nope. And it's not even a little bit out either - double and then some, arrrrgh! x

  4. Great post - fascinating to see the different fits and sizes all being tried on by the same person. You made the right choice and I'm with you on the returning and buying again - I'd have walked out on principle and the manager was quite cheeky saying that to you!! Like you owed them anything? Back to customer service school with that one :) x

    1. Yes, I thought so, it was like she had to really make it known it was not the norm to do. At that point though I just wanted my jeans at the shop price so humoured her for them! x

  7. That is so frustrating & really not on! I can't believe the manager said that to you! They look great & at least you got them at a bargain price too! I recently bought some black lace espadrilles in Hennes for £7 & they were still full price online when I looked them up! Ax
